Cut

Cut (proportions, symmetry, and polish) is a measure of how a diamond’s facets interact with light. A diamond's cut can also refer to its shape, such as round, oval, princess (square), etc.

Color

As the first observation one makes, a diamond's color grade is one of the most important factors in selecting a diamond. The GIA color grading scale starts at D, which is colorless. The most popular diamonds are G to H, or 'near colorless'.

Clarity

A diamond's clarity grade is determined by a gemologist using a microscope or loope. The clarity characteristics, like fingerprints, are unique to each diamond.

Carat Weight

One of the largest value factors is carat weight. A diamond's weight compared to its measurements will vary with different shapes of diamonds. A round diamond measuring 6.5mm in diameter is approximately 1ct.
